Overview

Epoetin alfa HX575 is a **biosimilar recombinant human erythropoietin alfa** produced by Sandoz, developed as a biosimilar to the reference epoetin alfa products Eprex/Erypo. It stimulates erythropoiesis (red blood cell production) by binding to erythropoietin receptors on erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow, activating kinase signaling, and driving proliferation, differentiation, and survival of erythroid cells. The drug is indicated for treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD), chemotherapy-induced anemia, and to reduce the need for red blood cell transfusion in select surgical patients. It is authorized for intravenous and subcutaneous administration in various regions, including Europe, Switzerland, Australia, and others[1][2][6][8].
