Epoladerm is a topical spray film formulation containing diclofenac epolamine, developed for the management of chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. It uses a proprietary technology to deliver diclofenac via a fast-drying, clear, and thin spray film from a pre-filled aerosol device, intended to improve convenience and ease of use over existing topical gels or creams. Epoladerm is being developed by Virpax Pharmaceuticals as a non-addictive analgesic and is undergoing clinical investigation with pathways toward both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) approval. Diclofenac epolamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works primarily by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing inflammation and pain.[1][2][3][5][6][9]
