Overview

EpsilonG1 is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) currently in preclinical development by Mapp Biopharmaceutical and its commercial arm, LeafBio, for the prophylaxis of Epsilon toxin (ETX) poisoning. ETX is a highly potent pore-forming toxin produced by *Clostridium perfringens* types B and D, which is considered a significant biothreat agent due to its high lethality and potential for aerosolization. EpsilonG1 acts by binding to and neutralizing the toxin, thereby preventing its interaction with host cell receptors and subsequent pore formation that leads to cellular lysis and systemic edema. The program is positioned in the discovery and lead candidate stage within Mapp's anti-toxin pipeline.
