eptinezumab

Eptinezumab is a fully humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) ligand, binding both its alpha and beta forms and blocking their interaction with the CGRP receptor. This mechanism inhibits CGRP-mediated signaling, which is implicated in migraine pathophysiology. Eptinezumab is administered as an intravenous infusion every 12 weeks for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults. It was developed by Lundbeck Seattle Biopharmaceuticals and approved by the FDA in February 2020. Eptinezumab demonstrates rapid onset of action due to immediate peak concentration post-infusion and maintains efficacy throughout its dosing interval[1][2][5][8].
