EQUIA Forte HT Fil is a dental restorative material developed by GC, representing an advanced glass hybrid technology. It is designed for bulk-fill applications in posterior teeth, including Class I, II, and V restorations. The system consists of a restorative material (Fil) and a protective resin coating (Coat). The Fil component is composed of fluoro-aluminosilicate glass particles of varying sizes and reactivity, which are mixed with high molecular weight polyacrylic acid. This combination allows for a high-viscosity, self-curing material that chemically bonds to the tooth structure (specifically hydroxyapatite) and releases fluoride ions to aid in remineralization and the prevention of secondary caries. Clinical studies, such as those conducted at Cairo University, have compared its performance against resin-modified glass ionomers (RMGI) for treating cervical carious lesions, focusing on aesthetic and mechanical durability.
