Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Equine allogeneic cartibeads is an allogeneic cell therapy developed by Vanarix for the treatment of osteochondritis dissecans in horses. The therapy consists of bioengineered, bead-shaped cartilage mini-implants (microtissues) produced from donor equine chondrocytes. Through a patented process, the chondrocytes undergo dedifferentiation and redifferentiation to generate high-quality hyaline-like cartilage matrix. When implanted into focal cartilage lesions, these cartibeads self-integrate into the surrounding tissue to regenerate damaged articular cartilage without requiring tissue compatibility.
