EquineGinate is a specialized veterinary wound dressing composed of acemannan and calcium alginate, specifically developed for the management of acute and chronic wounds in horses. Acemannan, a bioactive polysaccharide extracted from *Aloe vera*, acts as a potent immunomodulator by binding to mannose receptors on macrophages. This interaction stimulates the synthesis and release of pro-healing cytokines, such as interleukin-1 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, which accelerate the inflammatory and proliferative phases of tissue repair. The calcium alginate component provides a highly absorbent matrix that, upon contact with wound exudate, transforms into a hydrophilic gel. This gel maintains a moist wound environment conducive to autolytic debridement and protects the wound bed from dehydration and external contaminants. EquineGinate is primarily indicated for treating lacerations, surgical incisions, and exudative lesions in equine patients.
