Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EquiPure-FSH is a recombinant equine follicle-stimulating hormone (reFSH) developed for use in equine reproductive medicine. Produced using recombinant DNA technology, it consists of the alpha and beta subunits of equine FSH, providing a highly purified product that lacks the luteinizing hormone (LH) contamination typically found in pituitary-derived gonadotropin extracts. Its primary application is the induction of superovulation in mares, which is a critical component of advanced breeding and embryo transfer programs. By acting as a potent agonist at the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) on ovarian granulosa cells, EquiPure-FSH stimulates the recruitment and maturation of multiple follicles. This recombinant approach offers improved consistency, safety, and efficacy over traditional pituitary preparations, allowing for more precise control of the equine estrous cycle and improved reproductive outcomes.
