ER-100 is an investigational epigenetic therapy candidate designed to address cellular aging through epigenetic reprogramming. It works by delivering genetic instructions for producing three proteins, collectively referred to as OSK, via a modified adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector to retinal cells. These OSK proteins are intended to help reverse epigenetic changes and restore cells to a more youthful state, potentially preserving or restoring vision. The therapy is activated by systemic administration of doxycycline. ER-100 is being developed for age-related optic neuropathies, specifically Open Angle Glaucoma (OAG) and Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION).
