Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ErasaVir is an Ayurvedic dual-application mouth and nasal spray formulation developed by Palani in collaboration with Strassenburg Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to cleanse the upper respiratory tract and protect against enveloped viruses (such as SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses) and bacteria. The formulation contains plant-based active ingredients, including Kusumbha (Carthamus tinctorius) flower head oil extract, eucalyptus oil, and menthol. It works locally by physically disrupting and dissolving the lipid membranes of enveloped pathogens on contact, mimicking the action of soap. ErasaVir is approved in India under the Ministry of AYUSH and is marketed as a daily hygiene product for the prevention and relief of symptoms associated with the common cold, sore throat, runny nose, and viral flu.
