Overview

Erbai decoction (二白饮) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula that has been investigated for its potential therapeutic effects in Parkinson's disease (PD). Preclinical studies in PD rat models suggest that Erbai decoction can alleviate injury to the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) by activating mitophagy. Its mechanism of action is believed to involve the regulation of the p38 MAPK/Parkin signaling pathway. The decoction is a complex mixture, with studies identifying numerous unique components in its serum.
