Overview

ErbB2 inhibitor (specifically referring to the research compound S2111) is a potent, small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. It exhibits high inhibitory activity against the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) with an IC50 of 0.017 μM and the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (ErbB2/HER2) with an IC50 of 0.08 μM, while showing significantly lower potency against ErbB4 (IC50 = 1.91 μM). This compound is primarily utilized as a laboratory research tool to investigate phosphorylation signaling pathways and the molecular mechanisms underlying HER2-positive oncogenesis. It is commonly used in preclinical studies, particularly those involving HER2-positive breast cancer models, to evaluate the effects of pan-ErbB inhibition on cell growth and differentiation. It is not intended for human therapeutic use and is available through chemical suppliers for in vitro and in vivo research applications.
