Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Erchen Wan is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula used to dry dampness, resolve phlegm, regulate Qi, and harmonize the stomach. It is traditionally indicated for cough with copious sputum, chest and epigastric fullness, nausea, and vomiting caused by damp-phlegm accumulation. The formula typically consists of four core herbal ingredients: *Pinellia ternata* (Banxia), *Citrus reticulata* (Chenpi), *Poria cocos* (Fuling), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gancao). In clinical trials, such as those sponsored by Southern Medical University, Erchen Wan is evaluated for its potential to modify constitution scores and prevent the transition from a healthy state to suboptimal health in individuals with unbalanced TCM constitutions.
