Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eribaxaban is an orally active small molecule anticoagulant that acts as a selective and direct inhibitor of coagulation factor Xa. By inhibiting factor Xa, it disrupts the coagulation cascade and prevents thrombin formation and clot development. Eribaxaban was developed by Pfizer for the treatment and prevention of thrombotic disorders such as venous thrombosis. It reached phase II clinical trials but development was discontinued before approval or marketing[1][3][5][7].
