**Eribis peptide 94 (EP 94)** is a synthetic enkephalin analog structurally similar to met- and leu-enkephalin, developed by Eribis Pharmaceuticals AB. It acts as a potent agonist at **μ** and **δ opioid receptors** with lower affinity for the **κ opioid receptor**, mimicking ischemic preconditioning and postconditioning to provide **cardioprotection** by reducing infarct size, preventing cardiomyocyte necrosis and apoptosis, and limiting ischemia/reperfusion injury in rat models. Administered via injection prior to or during ischemia, it enhances cardiac tolerance to detrimental effects of ischemia/reperfusion through opioid receptor signaling pathways.[1][2][3][5][7]
