Eribulin + nivolumab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of the microtubule inhibitor eribulin and the immune checkpoint inhibitor nivolumab. Eribulin, available as both standard and liposomal formulations (E7389-LF), disrupts microtubule dynamics, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. It also modulates the tumor immune microenvironment, potentially enhancing immunotherapy efficacy. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 to restore T-cell mediated antitumor immunity. The combination has been studied in phase II trials for advanced gastric cancer, small cell lung cancer, and metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer, showing promising antitumor activity and manageable safety profiles[1][2][3][7][8].
