Overview

Erlangsubemab (also referred to as enlangsubemab or SG001) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. It functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, which are often exploited by tumor cells to suppress immune surveillance. By preventing this interaction, erlangsubemab restores T-cell activity and enhances the immune system's ability to mount an anti-tumor response. Developed by Sumgen (Suzhou) Biopharmaceutical, the drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for various malignancies, including locally advanced cervical cancer, where it is studied in combination with spatially fractionated brachytherapy and concurrent chemoradiotherapy.
