Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ermiao Wan (also known as Ermiao San or Two Marvels Pill) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula composed of a 1:1 ratio of *Cortex Phellodendri* (Huang Bai) and *Rhizoma Atractylodis* (Cang Zhu). It is widely used in China to clear heat, resolve dampness, and treat inflammatory-related conditions such as gout, hyperuricemia, atopic dermatitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Modern pharmacological studies suggest that Ermiao Wan exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting xanthine oxidase and xanthine dehydrogenase to lower uric acid levels, as well as modulating inflammatory pathways such as NF-κB, MAPK, and EGFR/AKT signaling.
