ERNA-201 is a synthetic, off-the-shelf cell therapy product comprised of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (iMSCs), engineered specifically to target inflammation and treat autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. ERNA-201 is designed to re-polarize macrophages in the synovial microenvironment towards an anti-inflammatory and regenerative state, and exhibits enhanced anti-inflammatory functionality through features such as uniform clonality, high proliferative capacity, increased immunosuppressive IDO-1 expression, reduced immunogenicity, and secretion of the immunoregulatory cytokine IL-10. This therapy aims to calm overactive immune cells and provide durable, precise targeting to sites of inflammation, potentially offering disease-modifying effects superior to traditional native MSC therapies[1][3][5][6][7][9][11][14][15].
