Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eroxon (MED3000) is a topical gel developed by Futura Medical for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). It is a fast-acting, non-pharmacological treatment that was cleared by the FDA as a De Novo medical device in 2023. Unlike traditional oral PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil, Eroxon works through a unique physical mechanism of action involving rapid evaporative cooling followed by a recovery warming effect. When applied to the glans penis, the gel's volatile components evaporate, stimulating cutaneous nerve endings (thermoreceptors). This stimulation triggers a natural reflex arc, leading to the relaxation of smooth muscle in the corpora cavernosa, increased blood flow, and the subsequent development of an erection, typically within 10 minutes. It is available over-the-counter in various jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom and the United States.
