Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ershen Zhenwu Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula primarily utilized for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF), particularly in presentations characterized by heart and kidney yang deficiency. It is a modified version of the classic Zhenwu Tang, with the addition of two types of ginseng (Ershen). The original Zhenwu Tang is traditionally known for its efficacy in warming kidney and spleen yang, promoting water metabolism, and dispelling cold and dampness. Ershen Zhenwu Tang is believed to improve cardiac function and attenuate myocardial fibrosis and inflammation. Modern research, employing network pharmacology, indicates that its therapeutic effects are mediated through multi-target and multi-level actions, including the regulation of JNK/MAPK-regulated apoptosis and the RhoA/ROCKs signaling pathway.
