ERXC101 is an investigational peptide-directed polymeric nanoparticle therapeutic developed by EnduRx Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and other solid tumors. The drug utilizes a specialized delivery platform where a targeting peptide directs a polymeric nanoparticle to a ubiquitous mitochondrial protein (identified in literature as p32, gC1qR, or C1QBP) that selectively translocates to the cell surface in tumor cells and tumor-associated cells (such as macrophages). This mechanism allows for the tumor-specific delivery of encapsulated chemotherapy agents, aiming to enhance efficacy and reduce systemic toxicity. The program is developed in collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center and has received funding from the Department of Defense CDMRP Breast Cancer Program.
