Overview

**ERY-ADI** is an investigational erythrocyte-encapsulated arginine deiminase therapy developed by ERYTECH to deplete circulating arginine while extending enzyme half-life and reducing the immunogenicity associated with free microbial arginine deiminase. The product consists of arginine deiminase, described in patent literature as derived from *Mycoplasma arginini*, encapsulated within red blood cells; after administration, the intracellular enzyme converts arginine to citrulline and ammonia, producing systemic arginine deprivation. ERY-ADI has been positioned for arginine-dependent conditions, particularly ASS1-deficient or otherwise arginine-auxotrophic cancers, and has also been proposed for arginase-1 deficiency as a metabolic indication, but public evidence suggests it has remained a preclinical or very early clinical-stage program rather than a marketed product.
