Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ES-1601 (also known as ES135) is a recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor (rhFGF1) consisting of a 135-amino acid protein sequence. Developed by Eusol Biotech, it is primarily investigated for the treatment of spinal cord injury (SCI). The drug acts as a neurotrophic factor, promoting nerve regeneration, angiogenesis, and functional recovery by binding to and activating fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs). ES-1601 has completed a Phase 3 pivotal clinical trial in Taiwan involving multiple medical centers and has received compassionate use approval for patients with spinal cord injuries.
