Overview

ES-3001 is a small molecule prostacyclin analogue being developed by Eicos Sciences for the treatment of autoimmune and vascular diseases. It functions as an agonist of the IP receptor (prostacyclin receptor), mimicking the physiological effects of endogenous prostacyclin, such as potent vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation. Unlike Eicos Sciences' other lead candidate, ES-2001 (which is an intravenous formulation of iloprost), ES-3001 is specifically designed for subcutaneous administration. This delivery route is intended to provide a more convenient and potentially continuous therapeutic option for patients with chronic vascular and autoimmune conditions.
