Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ES001 is an investigational Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Central Hospital. It is formulated as oral granules and is currently being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial (ChiCTR2200056796) for the prevention of therapy-related cardiotoxicity in women with stage II–IIIa breast cancer. The drug is administered to patients undergoing chemotherapy with anthracyclines (such as doxorubicin or epirubicin) and/or targeted therapy with trastuzumab, which are known to cause significant cardiac damage. ES001 aims to provide cardioprotection and mitigate the decline in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) associated with these cancer treatments.
