Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ES008-a is a high-affinity, specific monoclonal antibody designed to block the Leukocyte Immunoglobulin-like receptor B1 (LILRB1), an inhibitory receptor expressed on various immune cells. Developed by Elpiscience Biopharmaceuticals, ES008-a disrupts the interaction between LILRB1 and its ligands, including HLA-G and HLA-A2, which are often exploited by tumors to evade immune detection. By blocking this checkpoint, the antibody enhances anti-tumor activity by promoting macrophage-mediated phagocytosis, restoring the cytotoxic potential of natural killer (NK) cells, and boosting the effector functions of CD8+ T cells. It is currently under investigation for the treatment of solid tumors.
