Escitalopram oxalate oral solution

PC-0091 is an oral solution formulation of escitalopram oxalate, a potent selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) developed by Changtai Pharmaceutical (also known as PharmaMax Corp). It is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). As the S-enantiomer of citalopram, escitalopram exhibits high selectivity for the serotonin transporter (SERT) and lacks significant affinity for various other receptors, which minimizes potential side effects. The oral solution formulation offers a flexible dosing option that is particularly beneficial for pediatric, geriatric, or dysphagic patients who have difficulty swallowing traditional tablets or require precise dose titration. PC-0091 received marketing approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2021.
