Overview

Eseba-vec is an investigational **heterologous two-vector therapeutic cancer vaccine** developed from HOOKIPA's attenuated arenavirus-vector platform for HPV16-positive malignancies, principally recurrent or metastatic HPV16-positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The HB-200 regimen alternates two intravenously administered, replication-attenuated vectors: HB-201, derived from lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, and HB-202, derived from Pichinde virus. Both express a non-oncogenic HPV16 E7E6 fusion antigen intended to generate potent HPV16 E6- and E7-specific CD8-positive T-cell responses against tumor cells. HOOKIPA completed Phase 2 development activities and sold the program to NeoTrail Therapeutics in March 2026.
