ESOC1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to target and suppress the expression of the esophageal cancer-associated oncoprotein 1 (ESOC1), a SAM-dependent methyltransferase. ESOC1 is overexpressed in the majority of esophageal cancers and is associated with poor prognosis, while its expression is minimal in normal tissues except for the testis. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, ESOC1 siRNA effectively inhibits the growth and survival of esophageal cancer cells. Research indicates that ESOC1's methyltransferase activity on small non-coding RNAs contributes to its oncogenic potential, making it a promising therapeutic target for esophageal cancer.
