Espera C

Espera C is an oral micellar formulation of curcumin, a polyphenolic phytochemical derived from turmeric (*Curcuma longa*). Developed for clinical investigation by Erasmus MC (Universitair Medisch Centrum Rotterdam), this formulation utilizes micellar technology to significantly enhance the oral bioavailability of curcumin, which is otherwise poorly absorbed. Espera C is being evaluated for its potential immunomodulatory and antineoplastic effects in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of key inflammatory and pro-survival signaling pathways, most notably NF-κB and STAT3, thereby potentially altering the immune signature in the tumor microenvironment and peripheral blood.
