Overview

A therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of synthetic peptides derived from mutant forms of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα; also known as estrogen receptor 1 or ESR1), combined with the immunoadjuvants granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and Montanide ISA. The esr1 peptide vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack breast cancer cells expressing mutant or wild-type ESR1. By presenting these specific ER-derived peptides, the vaccine aims to elicit robust T cell responses against tumor cells harboring activating mutations in ESR1 that are associated with endocrine resistance in ER-positive breast cancer. The primary indication is for patients with estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer who have completed standard therapy. Clinical trials are ongoing to assess safety and immunogenicity[1][2][3][4][7].
