Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EST-003 is an early preclinical-stage formulation of minoxidil being developed by Estrenue for the treatment of hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). The drug is delivered using Estrenue's proprietary Foroderm platform, which utilizes elongated microparticles (microneedles) to physically deliver active compounds directly into the viable epidermis. This mechanical delivery bypasses the stratum corneum barrier, enhancing local drug deposition while minimizing systemic exposure. Minoxidil acts as an ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener, promoting hair growth by hyperpolarizing cell membranes, widening blood vessels, and prolonging the anagen phase of hair follicles.
