EST-P-OS1 (Osteosome) is a preclinical exosome-based therapeutic candidate being developed by Exostemtech for the treatment of osteoporosis. Utilizing the company's proprietary Exo-Plus platform, the therapy consists of exosomes derived from stem cells that are engineered or selected to carry bioactive molecules—including proteins, lipids, and RNAs—to the bone microenvironment. The primary mechanism of action involves the induction of osteogenic differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells and the promotion of osteoblast activity, while simultaneously suppressing osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. This dual approach aims to restore the balance of bone remodeling, increase bone mineral density, and provide a regenerative alternative to current anti-resorptive or anabolic treatments.
