Overview

EST-T-EXO is a preclinical exosome-based therapeutic candidate developed by Exostemtech for the treatment of tendinopathy. The therapy utilizes stem cell-derived exosomes, which are extracellular vesicles that act as paracrine mediators by transferring bioactive molecules such as proteins, lipids, and various RNA species to recipient cells. In the context of tendon injury, EST-T-EXO is designed to deliver regenerative signals directly to damaged tendon tissue to promote tenocyte proliferation, stimulate extracellular matrix repair, and modulate the local inflammatory microenvironment. As a cell-free regenerative medicine approach, it aims to provide the therapeutic benefits of stem cell therapy while potentially reducing risks associated with live cell transplantation, such as immunogenicity or unwanted differentiation.
