Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Estima is a micronized progesterone medication developed and marketed by the French pharmaceutical company Effik. It is primarily used in gynecology as a component of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal women with an intact uterus, where it serves to provide endometrial protection against the effects of estrogen therapy. The drug contains progesterone that is chemically identical to the hormone naturally produced by the human ovary. It acts as a progestogen with anti-estrogenic, weakly anti-androgenic, and anti-aldosterone properties. Estima is available as 100 mg and 200 mg soft capsules and can be administered either orally or vaginally.
