Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Estradiol 3-phosphate is a synthetic phosphate ester derivative of estradiol, the primary and most potent endogenous estrogen hormone in humans. As an estrogenic steroid, it acts as an agonist at estrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ), modulating gene transcription and protein synthesis to exert pro-estrogenic effects. Estradiol derivatives are used primarily for hormone replacement therapy in menopausal symptoms, prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, treatment of hypoestrogenism due to hypogonadism or ovarian failure, certain breast cancers in women and advanced prostate cancer in men. The phosphate ester form may be used as a prodrug to improve solubility or modify pharmacokinetics[2][4][5].
