Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ET-01 is an investigational topical formulation of botulinum toxin Type A developed by Eirion Therapeutics for aesthetic and medical dermatological indications. It utilizes a proprietary nanoemulsion transdermal delivery technology designed to transport the large botulinum toxin molecule across the skin barrier without the need for injections, thereby avoiding associated pain, bruising, and bleeding. The treatment is administered in a two-step process involving 'microporation' to create temporary channels in the skin, followed by the application and rubbing of the topical liniment. ET-01 has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the reduction of lateral canthal lines (Crow's feet) and the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis, aiming to provide a non-invasive alternative to traditional botulinum toxin injections.
