ET-501 (ADEPT-STAR-NET-1) is an autologous gamma delta T cell therapy combined with a bispecific T cell engager (BiTE) developed by Expression Therapeutics for the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). The therapy targets Somatostatin Receptor 2 (SSTR2), which is frequently overexpressed in NETs, and CD3 on the surface of T cells. By utilizing gamma delta T cells—which possess innate-like anti-tumor properties and do not require MHC-restricted antigen presentation—and redirecting them via the bispecific engager, ET-501 aims to enhance the precision and potency of T cell-mediated cytotoxicity against SSTR2-expressing tumor cells.
