ET1402L1-ARTEMIS T cells is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy developed to target alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), a tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in liver cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatoblastoma. The therapy involves collecting a patient's own T cells, genetically engineering them to express a proprietary ARTEMIS® cell receptor that incorporates a human antibody targeting the AFP-peptide/HLA-A2 complex, and reinfusing these modified cells back into the patient. This approach enables selective recognition and killing of AFP-positive cancer cells via immunologic cytotoxicity and natural TCR-signaling pathways, with additional co-stimulation for enhanced activity. The drug is being developed primarily by Eureka Therapeutics in collaboration with academic partners for pediatric and adult liver cancers, including relapsed/refractory hepatoblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma[1][3][4][5][6].
