Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LBEC0101 is a biosimilar of etanercept, a biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) that acts as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor. It is approved in Japan and South Korea for all indications of the reference product etanercept, including rheumatoid arthritis. LBEC0101 has demonstrated equivalent pharmacokinetics, efficacy, and safety to the original etanercept product in multiple clinical trials. Its mechanism of action involves binding to TNFα and inhibiting its activity, thereby reducing inflammation associated with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The drug was developed by LG Chem.
