Overview

ETBX-011 is an investigational cancer vaccine developed to treat patients with cancers that express carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a protein produced by many types of cancer cells including colorectal and pancreatic cancers. The drug is based on a next-generation adenoviral vector platform (Ad5 [E1-, E2b-]) engineered to express a modified form of the CEA gene encoding the highly immunogenic CAP1-6D peptide. Upon subcutaneous administration, ETBX-011 stimulates both humoral and cell-mediated immune responses against CEA-positive tumor cells by priming immune cells to recognize and attack these targets. Clinical trials have shown that ETBX-011 can induce significant T-cell responses even in patients with pre-existing immunity to adenovirus vectors and has demonstrated safety and tolerability in early-phase studies. It has been tested as monotherapy or in combination regimens for advanced/metastatic colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, triple negative breast cancer, solid tumors, hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (Lynch syndrome), and squamous cell carcinoma[1][3][6][7].
