ETBX-021

ETBX-021 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing the HER2 protein. It uses a genetically modified adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) vector with deletions in the E1 and E2b regions to deliver the HER2 gene, prompting an immune response specifically against HER2-expressing cancer cells. The vaccine aims to induce cytotoxic T-cell responses targeting tumors that overexpress or express low levels of HER2, such as certain breast cancers. Originally developed by Etubics Corporation and later advanced by NantBioScience and ImmunityBio, its clinical development has been discontinued after early-phase trials in breast cancer due to low enrollment[1][3][5].
