ETD-001

ETD-001 is a first-in-class small molecule inhibitor developed by Etuuo Pharma (Wuxi Etuuo Pharma) for the treatment of pathological scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids. The drug is designed to target the liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) of the Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase 2 (SHP2), a non-receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase. SHP2 acts as a critical signaling hub in the TGF-β/Smad and Ras/MAPK pathways, which are central to fibroblast activation, proliferation, and excessive collagen deposition in scarring. By modulating the phase separation and subsequent activity of SHP2, ETD-001 aims to suppress the local fibrotic response. It is formulated as an ointment for topical administration and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China.
