Overview

Etentamig is a multivalent bispecific antibody immunotherapy developed for the treatment of multiple myeloma and light chain (AL) amyloidosis. It targets both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), which is expressed on malignant plasma cells, and CD3, found on T-cells. By binding to BCMA on myeloma cells and CD3 on T-cells, etentamig brings these immune cells into close proximity with cancer cells, activating cytotoxic T-cell responses that result in targeted tumor cell killing. The drug is administered intravenously or subcutaneously and leverages technologies such as UniRat and OmniFlic for its antibody engineering. Etentamig was originally developed by TeneoBio/TeneoOne and further advanced by AbbVie; Amgen has also been involved in its development. It has received orphan drug designation for multiple myeloma[1][5][8].
