Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ETGF-2981 is a recombinant fusion protein biologic developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceutical. It is designed to target the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) signaling pathway by utilizing a VEGF receptor-based fusion structure, often referred to as a 'VEGF trap.' By acting as a decoy receptor, ETGF-2981 binds to VEGF ligands with high affinity, preventing them from interacting with their endogenous receptors on the surface of vascular endothelial cells. This inhibition effectively suppresses pathological angiogenesis and reduces vascular permeability, which are key drivers in the progression of retinal vascular diseases and various solid tumors.
