Overview

ETGF-2982 is a recombinant fusion protein biologic being developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceutical (Staidson Hongkong). It is designed to target the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor (VEGF-R), likely functioning as a decoy receptor or "trap" to sequester VEGF ligands. By preventing the binding of VEGF to its native receptors, ETGF-2982 inhibits the signaling pathways that drive angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). This mechanism is typically utilized in the treatment of solid tumors to starve them of blood supply or in neovascular ophthalmic diseases to prevent abnormal vessel growth. The drug is currently in the early stages of development within Staidson's R&D pipeline.
