Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ethacridine lactate naphthalenedisulfonate is a small molecule salt formulation of ethacridine (also known as acrinol or Rivanol), an acridine derivative. While ethacridine lactate is historically recognized as a topical antiseptic and an abortifacient, this specific naphthalenedisulfonate salt is being developed by Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group for oral administration. It is currently under investigation in China for the treatment of gastrointestinal and biliary conditions, including chronic gastritis, biliary dyskinesia, and abnormal digestive tract function. Clinical evaluation has included pharmacokinetic studies to characterize its absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) profile in healthy subjects.
