Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ethylenediamine diaceturate (also known as diacetylaminoacetic acid ethylenediamine) is a small molecule hemostatic agent developed and approved in China. It is primarily used for the prevention and treatment of various types of bleeding, including surgical bleeding, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage, gynecological hemorrhage, epistaxis, and hematuria. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of plasminogen activators, which prevents the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby inhibiting fibrinolysis and promoting clot stability. Additionally, ethylenediamine diaceturate promotes the release of active substances from platelets, enhances platelet aggregation and adhesion, and reduces capillary permeability to further control bleeding.
