Overview

Ethylputreanine nonoate is a novel nitric oxide (NO) donor compound, specifically an NO/nucleophile adduct (NONOate). It has been investigated for its hemodynamic effects, particularly its ability to selectively reduce pulmonary vascular resistance. Studies have shown that intratracheal instillation of ethylputreanine nonoate can significantly decrease both pulmonary vascular resistance index (PVRI) and systemic vascular resistance index, suggesting its potential as a treatment for pulmonary hypertension.
